HaemoCer PATCH is an adjunct haemostatic agent for use in surgical procedures and traumatic injuries when control of bleeding from capillary, venous, or arteriolar vessels by pressure, ligature and other conventional procedures is either ineffective or impractical.
HaemoCer PATCH consists of a crosslinked structure that absorbs water from the blood and initiates a dehydration process. Blood solids (platelets, blood cells) and blood proteins are concentrated so that physiological haemostasis is accelerated. Upon contact with blood, the patch forms a gel matrix that acts as an instant barrier against further bleeding, independent of the patient’s clotting status. Absorption normally requires several days and depends on the amount of material applied and the site of use.
